Club Rules.

Last updated: May 2026. These rules apply to all members, guests, and visitors at HABITAT For Fitness.
These Club Rules form part of your HABITAT For Fitness Membership Agreement. They apply to all members, guests, and visitors. They exist to keep everyone safe, comfortable, and having a good time. Please take a moment to read through them.
Who the rules apply to

These rules apply to the HABITAT team, all members, and their guests. If you do not comply with these rules, we may ask you to leave the facility, deny you access, or in serious cases, terminate your membership. We will apply the rules fairly and consistently so that everyone can train in a safe and welcoming environment.

We may update these rules from time to time. Changes will be communicated via our website and notices in the club.

Before you start
  • 1Talk to your doctor before starting a new fitness programme or using our facilities, especially if you have any health concerns.
  • 2All members and guests must complete a Health Check Waiver before using the facility. If your medical circumstances change during your membership, please complete a new Health Check.
Membership and access
  • 3Please check in at reception every time you visit.
  • 4Your membership is personal to you. No one else may use your account or access.
  • 5If your membership app access is lost or needs replacing, contact us at reception.
  • 6If your membership fees are outstanding, or your membership is frozen, suspended, or terminated, access to the facility will be denied.
  • 7If we terminate your membership, it is at our discretion as to whether you are eligible to rejoin in the future.
Bringing a guest
  • 8Members may bring guests at our discretion by paying the current guest fee. Please check current rates at reception.
  • 9Guests must comply with all Club Rules including completing a Health Check before using the facility.
  • 10You are responsible for your guest's behaviour at all times. You must accompany your guest and must not leave the facility before they do.
  • 11You may not access the facility as a guest while your own membership is frozen.
General club use
  • 12Opening hours are posted at the facility and on our website. Please leave the facility before closing time.
  • 13Do not bring alcohol or illegal drugs into the facility.
  • 14Please do not consume food or drinks brought from outside in the facility.
  • 15Guide dogs are welcome. Carers may accompany members but may not use the facility for their own workout while caring for a member.
  • 16Do not use the facility while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or tranquillisers. If you are on prescribed medication that may affect your ability to exercise safely, please consult your doctor.
  • 17No smoking inside or near the entrance to the facility.
  • 18When taking photos or videos, please respect other members' privacy. Do not photograph or film other members without their consent. No photos or videos in the change rooms. We reserve the right to ask you to delete content we deem inappropriate.
  • 19You are responsible for any loss or damage caused by you or your guests while in the facility.
The training floor and studios
  • 20Use equipment for its intended purpose and follow instructions from our team. Ask for help if you need it.
  • 21Do not bring your own equipment into the facility without checking with us first. Personal items like boxing gloves are fine.
  • 22Let us know immediately if any equipment is broken or unsafe.
  • 23No food or bags on the training floor or in the studios.
  • 24Only water or sports drinks in plastic or aluminium bottles on the training floor and in studios. No glass bottles.
  • 25Return weights and equipment to their correct place after use.
  • 26Use a towel on all equipment and wipe down equipment after use.
Classes
  • 27We recommend pre-booking as classes have maximum capacities. Instructors will limit attendance to the pre-set maximum.
  • 28Classes can be booked up to 8 days in advance through the HABITAT Members App or website.
  • 29If you cannot attend a class, cancel at least 1 hour before the scheduled start time.
  • 30Late cancellations within 1 hour of class start, or failure to cancel and not show up, will result in a $2 Late Cancel or No Show fee. For credit-based memberships, your credit will be forfeited.
  • 31Timetables and instructors may change without notice. Check the HABITAT Members App or website for the most up-to-date schedule.
  • 32If you arrive more than 5 minutes late for a class you will not be permitted to join. Please arrive a few minutes early and warm up before you start.
  • 33Follow all instructions given by our coaches.
Class cancellations within 1 hour of start time result in a $2 fee or credit forfeiture. Please cancel early so other members can take your spot.
What to wear
  • 34Appropriate exercise clothing must be worn at all times. This includes a top and closed footwear when moving between areas of the facility.
  • 35No bare chests on the training floor or in studios.
  • 36For Reformer Pilates classes, grip socks are required. These are available for purchase at reception.
  • 37If you are unsure what is appropriate to wear, ask a team member.
Lockers and belongings
  • 38Lockers are available while you are using the facility, subject to availability. We cannot guarantee that use of a locker will prevent theft or damage.
  • 39Lockers are for gym kit, toiletries, and the clothes you arrive in. Do not use lockers for storage of other items.
  • 40We reserve the right to open any locker we have reasonable grounds to believe is being misused.
  • 41Lockers must be cleared when you leave. Items left overnight will be removed. Uncollected items after 7 days will be donated to charity.
  • 42Only one person per shower cubicle at any time.
Personal training
  • 43Only HABITAT Personal Trainers may provide personal training in our facility. Please do not bring external trainers into the club.
Safety
  • 44Do not interfere with fire doors or fire exits.
  • 45Follow all health and safety notices displayed in the facility.
  • 46If you are hurt or injured, please notify a team member before leaving.
  • 47In an emergency, follow instructions from HABITAT staff immediately. Failure to evacuate when asked will be treated as a serious breach of these rules.
General
  • 48HABITAT may photograph or film the facility and its members from time to time for commercial use. We will try to get your consent beforehand but this may not always be possible. CCTV is in operation at all times.
  • 49Pricing is subject to change from time to time. Current rates are available at reception and in the HABITAT Members App.
  • 50We reserve the right to approve or decline membership applications at our discretion.
  • 51Always treat other members, guests, and HABITAT staff with respect. Use the facility in a way that does not disturb or impair anyone else's experience.
